Very Fine Signed Persian Tabriz Rug Medallion design | Floral Fine Kork Wool (Cashmere) and Silk on Silk foundation

This Persian Tabriz rug is published in;

THE PERSIAN CARPET, ‘The Fabric of Life’, Essie Sakhai, Woodbridge, 2008.

pl. 153, p. 216.

This attractive mid-20th century Tabriz carpet is interesting
for showing how a traditional medallion and corners pattern can be
adapted and subtly changed by a skilful weaver. The somewhat feathery
nature of the out lines is decidedly modern as is the palette, with its deep
tomato-red and distinctive pinkish-grey. The ivory plain weave ends with
single piled motifs are also indicative of present-day Persian weaving
(note the pairs of Iranian flags at either end).
