Old Persian Esfahan Rug Mihrab design | Vase Fine Wool Pile

An attractive Persian Esfahan rug with an asymmetric one way design. The drawing of the pattern elements are drawn in a style associated with  Esfahan weaving  dating to the first quarter 20th century. This is defined by an angular style of drawing combined with a curvilinear drawing displaying floral elements supporting an ogival vase. The colours are from a distinctive Esfahan palette associated with this time. Red, pink, pale blue green, and beige floral elements are presented with black outlining against a contrasting ivory back ground and red border . These colours are juxtaposed to ensure that the composition is visually appealing and readable.
