Delightful and Unusual Karabakh Rug Allover design | Animals Wool on Wool foundation

This Karabakh is published in;

THE STORY OF CARPETS, Essie Sakhai, London, 1991.

p. 91.

Animal design, Karabagh, wool on wool, dated 1330 AH (1911/12 AD). This delightful and most unusual rug has three rows of animals – horses, rams and dogs (which look like St. Bernards) – arranged on a plain crimson field. There are two stylised floral motifs and a woven date which is wholly believable.
